Even in a relationship, I’ve never been a big celebrator of Valentine’s Day. It just always seemed like an unnecessary way to show someone how special they are; every
day should be Valentine’s Day, am I right? But this year, as a newly single woman for the first time since I was 20, I’m taking Galentine’s Day seriously because through it all, I’ve learned that I need to prioritize friendships over anything else.
My love language is quality time whether that is with friends or a romantic partner, quality time is what I crave in order to feel loved. So that is exactly what I’m going to do this upcoming “holiday” weekend with my closest girlfriends. You can bet I’ll be drinking wine, talking about my feelings, and having a total selfcare sleepover with my besties.
Here are some ways to spend your Valentine’s Day with your girls.
FRIENDGIVING, BUT IN FEBRUARY.
HAVE A SLEEPOVER.
BAKE TOGETHER.
TAKE A DAY TRIP.
EXPLORE A NEW CITY.
GO ON A HIKE.
GET A GOOD WORKOUT IN.
GO FOR BRUNCH.
COFFEE DATE.
GAME NIGHT.
HAVE A PHOTO SHOOT.
GET A HOTEL FOR THE NIGHT.
MANICURES & PEDICURES.
BINGE YOUR FAVORITE SHOW.
TALK ABOUT YOUR GOALS.
PLAN A VACATION.
VISIT A WINERY OR BREWERY.
These are all great ideas not only for this specific day, but for always. Quality time is how you make memories that you’ll remember for a lifetime.
You are loved. You are important. You are worthy.
