I am beyond excited about this—I’m officially enrolled in the National Academy of Sports Medicine’s (NASM) Behavior Change Specialization!
It has been nearly 2 years since I’ve become an NASM Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), which seems just like yesterday. I’ve learned a ton of valuable information via hand-on personal training, online support, listening to loads of podcasts, and watching lots of YouTube videos. Like most careers, personal training is a never-ending adventure of continually learning. However, one can educate themselves on fitness and nutrition all they want, but if they do not have the drive to implement it into their own life, they will not succeed in creating a sustainable lifestyle.
Behavior change is the basis of creating a healthy lifestyle – one must be able to set attainable, realistic goals, recognize and anticipate potential barriers, and of course have an effective plan to overcome these inevitable obstacles that will impede progress.
My goal as a BCS will be to support my clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. I want to have deep discussions that will elicit client-generated strategies and self-discovery. I want to be the accountability behind someone finally succeeding who has struggled their entire life to reach their health goal.
I am feeling more passionate than ever and I cannot wait to absorb and implement everything I learn to help YOU become the happiest and healthiest you.
