My Healthy Nighttime Routine

My nights are like clockwork. Though I love change, I am a very routine-driven person. I’m not a happy camper when I’m not home by 8pm so that I have time to chill out and prepare myself for the next day.

  1. Prepare all my food for the next day: This way I am able to get up and go and I don’t have to worry about anything food related all while knowing I’m right on track with reaching my goals. This includes (1) Filling the coffee maker so I can just press start in the morning, (2) Preparing my overnight oats, (3) Putting all my food in my lunch bag in the fridge so I can grab and go. I always have my breakfast, morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snacks meal prepped. I’m a little crazy when it comes to being prepared, but it’s also why I’ve been able to be so consistent for the last 2 years.

  2. Eat dessert AKA my famous Protein Fluff. Click here for the recipe. I eat casein every single night because it satisfies my sweet tooth and I’m fueling my muscles all night long with this slow-release protein. Buy the best protein here.

  3. Clean up: It’s easier for me to get out of bed knowing everything is clean and organized and there’s not dirty dishes in the sink or clothes laying all over the floor.

  4. Give my cats a midnight snack so they don’t stand on top of me at 4am wanting food.

  5. FRE Skincare Routine: Apply a DETOX ME mask 2 nights each week, typically on night I train legs because I sweat an obnoxious amount. Follow up my skincare routine with the PURIFY ME cleanser. I wash my face with it every morning and night and wow there is nothing more refreshing. And finally, apply RECOVER ME. (Use code: FITMANDI for 15% off)

  6. Floss my teeth followed by brushing them.

  7. Take a melatonin or CBD oil to help me fall asleep. I really can't afford to toss and turn in bed struggling to fall asleep.

  8. Lay in bed and read. I like to read for half an hour before I fall asleep. I strongly believe reading is the best way to constantly learn and I feel more intelligent with every book I read. Not to mention reading puts me right to sleep.

So on an average night, this is what I do and honestly my nights are like clockwork. Of course I have those nights where I am so tired that I can hardly motivate myself to move myself from the couch to my bed, but when I have to wake up extra early in the morning to finish the tasks I neglected to do the night before, I regret it. I usually start these tasks 2 hours before I want to be asleep.

Having a solid nighttime routine is so important when it comes to living your healthiest, best life. Small acts of self care each night will change your life.
